Reproductive justice is distinct from reproductive health, choice, or freedom. It is not a substitute for the terms “pro-choice,” “reproductive rights,” or “sexual rights.” Read Loretta Ross of SisterSong explain the specific meaning of the term “reproductive justice” here.
Founded in 2011 by Cherisse Scott, the current CEO, SisterReach was formed to offer women and girls in Memphis, TN and the surrounding Mid South area a framework of Reproductive Justice(RJ). Before SisterReach’s founding, there was no organization or entity working specifically from the RJ framework in the state of Tennessee. Sign up for their newsletter here.
